Winter Plein Air Painting

Painting outside in the winter months. A question of comfort makes the process of painting easier. Equipment kept to a minimum as well as working in smaller sizes. A good pair of warm winter boots and insulated clothing, as well as good gloves, or hand-warmers. Oil paints are not affected like acrylics in low temperatures, although in really cold temperatures oils will stiffen, a little painting medium helps the flow.
